S. and Alice Potter, was born in Johnson county Oct. 30, 1874, and departed this life March 8, 1902, after an illness of about two weeks, aged 27 years, 4 months and 8 days. When the deceased was 7 years old her mother died, leaving the daughter and two sons, Fred H. and Wm. W. Potter. S. and Alice Potter, was born in Johnson county Oct. 30, 1874, and departed this life March 8, 1902, after an illness of about two weeks, aged 27 years, 4 months and 8 days. When the deceased was 7 years old her mother died, leaving the daughter and two sons, Fred H. and Wm. W. Potter. About two years later the father married Miss Georgiana Lutz, who has proven herself faithful and true to the motherless children. Deceased was afflicted from early childhood and hence confined to her home through all the years, being deprived of the joys of social life and the privilege of intellectual development, which would have been hers had it not been for her unfortunate condition. Yet with all her affliction and suffering she manifested a spirit of patience and humble submission, which can come only from a heart that has been illuminated by the divine presence. No effort or means was spared on the part of the parents and family to relieve her suffering, but with all, relief was only temporary. She died in the triumphs of a living faith and has gone to her reward. The funeral services were conducted by W. N. Potter of Ainsworth assisted by Rev. J. W. Love, pastor of Reformed church, at Lone Tree, Mar. 10th, 1902, at 1 p.m. and her remains were laid to rest in the Lone Tree cemetery to await the resurrection morn.
