ROSE DAWSON VICTIM OF FIRE IN HOME AT DES MOINES Des Moines, Jan. 7--INS--Mrs. Rose Dawson, 80, was found burned to death today at her home on the outskirts of Des Moines. Mrs. Dawson, who lived alone, had apparently tried to light a fire with the aid of kerosene and was fatally burned when it exploded. _____ Mrs. Rose Dawson, 80, formerly of Nevada, who was found dead in her home in the northwest outskirts f Des Moines early today was an aunt of Mrs. Nina Post of 1014 First street, Nevada. Mrs. Dawson, who had lived in Des Moines for many years, was found dead in her home at 3512 Fourth street, Des Moines, early today. She had evidently tried to light a fire with the aid of kerosene and her clothes caught and were burned from her body. While her body did no appear to be severely burned, it is thought that she died from the shock. The house was not destroyed. Mrs. Dawson, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Norris, pioneers of this community, leave three daughters and one sister. The daughters are Mrs. Agnes Campbell, who lives nearby her in Des Moines, Mrs. Leola Foster of Davenport and Mrs. Marguerite Shepherd [should be Shepard] of Albia. The sister is Mrs. Daniel Miller of California. Four brothers, Fred, C. W., Edward and William T. have preceded her in death. While nothing definite has been learned, it is expected that the body of Mrs. Dawson will be brought to Nevada for burial in the Norris family lot in the Nevada cemetery.
