Description	:	Julian (Jay) Tanner, 54, of the Kent Community, died Wednesday, November 26, 2008, in Berkeley County as a result of an automobile accident on US Highway 17A. Mr. Tanner was born May 20, 1954, in Georgetown County, a son of Alice Connelly Tanner and the late Victor Randolph Tanner. He was a Maintenance Planner with Santee-Cooper's Jefferies Station in Moncks Corner. He was a member of the Jefferies Relay for Life Team and a member of the Santee Cooper Golf League. Mr. Tanner was born May 20, 1954, in Georgetown County, a son of Alice Connelly Tanner and the late Victor Randolph Tanner. He was a Maintenance Planner with Santee-Cooper's Jefferies Station in Moncks Corner. He was a member of the Jefferies Relay for Life Team and a member of the Santee Cooper Golf League. He was a former golf coach at Andrews High School. He enjoyed golf and billiards as his hobbies and also operated a back yard business named Four Mermaid Products. He enjoyed the Wisconsin farm life and had looked forward to relocating to that area after retirement. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Mens. He was survived by his wife Gayle B. Tanner of the home; his mother of Andrews; three daughters, Heather T. (Robert) Wolf of San Clemente, California, and Lacie Marie Tanner and Fayth Allison Tanner, both of Andrews; a former exchange daughter, Yuka Momozaki of Tokyo, Japan; a grandson, Bennie M. Lockliear, II; three brothers, Victor Randolph Tanner II of Bartow, Florida, Michael D. Tanner of Raleigh, NC, and Jimmy D. Tanner of Zebulon, NC; two sisters, Libby T. West of Zebulon, NC, and Ettre Vee T. Howard of Charlotte, NC; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services were 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2008, in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Eubanks officiated. Graham Funeral Home was in charge.
