Read More	Private Julian Doran Miller, aged eighteen years, son of Mr. and Mrs. William M. Miller, near Luray, was killed in action in France on October 17th, according to information received by his parents on Tuesday this week. Of course, information as to how the young soldier met his death is meagre and details will be sometime in arriving. he enlisted almost two years ago - just after the outbreak of the war, at the time when the Dayton band was in Lura and went with the Second Virginia Regiment to Anniston, Ala., where he was in camp until early in 1918, when he went overseas. He was a member of the machine gun company of the 116th Infantry and all his letters to friends here showed that he was filled with the purpose to do his duty at any cost and was thoroughly in love with the soldier's life. In Julian Miller, Page county sent out a fine specimen of the stuff out of which the genuine soldier is made and his sacrifice will help to make America a better country in which to live. Besides his mother and father, he is survived by two sisters and two brothers - Mrs. Arnold Cave, of Luray; Miss Elizabeth Miller, of Washington; Luther E. Miller, of Baltimore; and William A.J. Miller, at home. This community is deeply grieved by the death of this youth. Filled by patriotism he volunteered eighteen months ago, when he was only sixteen years of age and seemed to his elders hardly more than a child, but the sequel showed that beneath his youthful exterior there was a brave man's loyalty, fortitude and strength of purpose.
