Description	:	A lifelong resident of Gilbert, Mr. Keisler was a 1933 graduate of Gilbert High School and a peach farmer for more than 50 years. Together with his wife, he owned and operated J.H. Keisler General Merchandise for 15 years. In the early 1970s, he constructed greenhouses and began growing and selling flowers for over 20 years. He was a member of the Gilbert United Methodist church all his life and was the oldest living member at the time of his death. Read More	A lifelong resident of Gilbert, Mr. Keisler was a 1933 graduate of Gilbert High School and a peach farmer for more than 50 years. Together with his wife, he owned and operated J.H. He was a member of the Gilbert United Methodist church all his life and was the oldest living member at the time of his death. He served in many administrative rolls through the years and was a member of the United Methodist Men. He was also a member of the Gilbert Ruritan Club, the Gilbert Community Club, the Gilbert Young Farmers and was a former Lexington County School Board member. He had worked with the Lexington County Peach Festival from its inception. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Ellen Catherine Wise Keisler; his parents, James Willie Keisler & Anna Harmon Keisler; his sister, Bertha Keisler Rikard. He is survived by two children, daughter, Nancy (Tom) Keisler Harmon; son, Dr. David (Debbie) Keisler; six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Interment followed funeral services conducted at the Gilbert United Methodist Church, Sunday, April 24, 2011. Pallbearers were his grandson. Memorials may be made to the Gilbert United Methodist church, P.O. box 142, Gilbert, SC 29054, or Gilbert Community Park, P.O. Box 62, Gilbert, SC, 29054. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mrs. Irene Caldwell and Ed Boatwright, longtime friends and employees, and to the staff at Oak Leaf Village, and at the Morningside Assisted Living for their care and assistance.
