She was born on June 19, 1963, in Syracuse to Adola Levens (dec. 1997) and Claude Hubbard (dec. 1965). She attended Syracuse High School, where she met Anthony “Tony” Englert. She was born on June 19, 1963, in Syracuse to Adola Levens (dec. 1997) and Claude Hubbard (dec. 1965). She attended Syracuse High School, where she met Anthony “Tony” Englert. They were married in 1980 and together raised four sons. Tony passed away in 2015, a loss which devastated Julie. During her life she enjoyed woodworking, fishing, reading, a good scary movie, listening to music, and spending time with her family. She was devoted to her children, to whom she imparted gifts of love, curiosity, and good humor. Julie is survived by her sons: Ben (spouse Holly Watts), Jon (spouse Anna), Joe (spouse Marisa) and Luke (partner Reid Bangert); her sisters Susan McBee (spouse Keith) and Nancy Worthey (spouse Criss); her brother Randy Levens (spouse Rhonda); and nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 5th at the Syracuse Junior-Senior High School auditorium at 10:30 a.m. MST (11:30 a.m. CST). Julie wished to be cremated and a graveside service is not planned. Her remains will be interred with Tony’s at Syracuse Cemetery later this year in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome donations in Julie’s honor to a memorial charity previously established for Tony. Donations can be made out to the Western Kansas Community Foundation with The Tony Englert Memorial Fund in the memo line and sent to the Western Kansas Community Foundation office at 402 N. Main St., Garden City, KS. 67846. All contributors will receive an acknowledgement letter that their donation is tax deductible. Monies from this fund will be disbursed in the coming years to nonprofit charities and causes consistent with the wishes and interests of Tony and Julie.
