Boots Passed Away Last Monday Night The unexpected death of Mrs. Edgar E. Boots, occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fannie Milroy last Monday evening, near midnight. Mrs. Boots had fallen last week, Wednesday, and bruised herself severely. this accident produced a congestion of the lunch which caused her condition to become rapidly worse. She passed into a coma Christmas night, which condition did not change until her death occurred the day following. All of her children were with her at the time of her passing, with the exception of two sons, who live in Missouri. Mrs. Boots was a daughter of Joseph and Nancy Reed. Her maiden name was Juliette Reed, and she was born near Stone City, March 31, 1856. She would therefore have been 77 years of age at the time of her next birth anniversary. She was married to Edgar E. Boots, February 28, 1870, at Anamosa, Their home was made at Stone City, Earlville, and Hopkinton. For the past nineteen years, Mr. and Mrs. Boots have lived In and near Monticello. For the past fifteen years their home was located just east of Kitty Creek on the Scotch Grove road. They became the parents of thirteen children, three of whom died in infancy. The ten surviving are: Oscar and Ernest Boots, Bagnell, Mo.; Winnie Boots, Anamosa; Mrs. E. E. Smith, Delhi; and Mrs. H. T. Barlow, Harry, Ray, Irmine, Mrs. Fannie Milroy and Mrs. Edward Fitzsimons of Monticello. There are also surviving, one brother, Melvin Reed of Ainsworth, Neb., and a sister, Miss Elizabeth Reed of Chicago. There are also surviving a half brother, John Crocker, of Anamosa, and a half-sister, Mrs. Prank Washburn of Anamosa. Funeral services are to be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist Episcopal church. They will be in charge of Rev. Roy V.
