Description	:	June Harriett Elston died peacefully at her home in La Conner on Friday, July 15, 2011 at the age of 91. June was born in Oakville, Iowa on June 29, 1920, the seventh of eight children of Frank and Sadie Williams. She was raised on a farm in Iowa and married Robert M. Elston. They moved to Seattle in 1949. The Elstons resided in Shoreline and Mercer Island until Robert's death in 1993. June moved to La Conner in 2004. June was born in Oakville, Iowa on June 29, 1920, the seventh of eight children of Frank and Sadie Williams. She was raised on a farm in Iowa and married Robert M. Elston. They moved to Seattle in 1949. The Elstons resided in Shoreline and Mercer Island until Robert's death in 1993. June moved to La Conner in 2004. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. June loved to cook, sew and take care of her family but she also enjoyed gardening, working on crafts and she especially enjoyed snow skiing, which she first started at age 50. Over the years June operated a day care center and worked as a legal secretary for her husband, an attorney who later served for many years as a King County Superior Court Judge. At the time of Robert's death, the Elstons had been married for 53 years. June is survived by her four children: her sons: Doug (Judy), of Snohomish, Ron, of Renton, and Steve (Kathy), of La Conner; her daughter, Patricia, of La Conner; four grandchildren: Jennifer (Rich) McClean, of Woodinville, Chris, of North Hollywood, CA, and Cindy and Kevin, both of La Conner; and four great-grandchildren, Madison, Brandon, Christopher and Connor McClean. June was a small woman with a large heart and will be greatly missed by her friends and family. A memorial service will be held at the La Conner Retirement Inn at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3. Remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, Western & Central Washington State Chapters, Development Dept., 12721 30th Ave. NE, Suite 101, Seattle, WA 98125.
