Description	:	June Malliot, 64, a lifelong Wenatchee Valley resident, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2005, at Central Washington Hospital, following an extended illness. She was born on March 13, 1940, in East Wenatchee to the late Woodrow and Violet (Adams) Harmon. She was raised in East Wenatchee and graduated from Eastmont High School. She was born on March 13, 1940, in East Wenatchee to the late Woodrow and Violet (Adams) Harmon. She was raised in East Wenatchee and graduated from Eastmont High School. She was married to Dean Malliot on December 31, 1958, in Cashmere. They made their home together in East Wenatchee. She went to work for the Wenatchee World and continued working through late 1962. She then started an in home child care company known as "Malliot's Day Care". This later became the first State Licensed Day Care in Washington. She continued operating her child care company for over 35 years before semi-retiring to personally care for her granddaughters and great-grandaughter. They continued to make their home in East Wenatchee. June was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Wenatchee, where she had assisted with the church Cradle Roll Department. She was also a Charter Member of the Chelan-Douglas Day Care Association. She is one of the few people that was employed from the age of 13. She especially enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking and was known as "Grandma June" to everyone. She took great pleasure in crocheting each cradle roll baby an afghan during her time on that committee. In the summer of 2000, June and her entire family made a memorable trip to Disneyland together. She is survived by her husband, Dean Malliot, East Wenatchee; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda & Doug Countryman, Laura Malliot and Scott Strausbaugh all of East Wenatchee; two brothers, John and Jim Harmon both of East Wenatchee; one sister, Judy Wyant, East Wenatchee; three grandchildren, Catherine, Bethany & Amy Countryman and one grandson-in-law, Jeff Logstrom all of East Wenatchee; one great-grandchild, Claire Countryman, East Wenatchee, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant sister, Jean Harmon and a niece, Tina Wyant. Commemoration services will be held on Friday, February 11, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. at Telford's Chapel of the Valley with the Rev. Kel Groseclose officiating. Concluding services and entombment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
