June died Friday, Oct. 27 at the Hospice of Luverne in Luverne. June Maxine DeVoe, daughter of Guy and Epha (Runyan) DeVoe, was born March 10, 1924, in Orange, Calif. Shortly after her birth her family moved to Rock Valley, Iowa, where they lived for a time. June's family then moved to Hills, Minn., where she attended high school. She was united in marriage with Claude Thulin on April 5, 1942, in South Sioux City, Neb. The couple farmed near Valley Springs, later moving to Garretson. June worked for Eastwold Drug and Dakota News in Sioux Falls. She later worked at Les' Tap and Grill and Jesse James Mini Mart in Garretson before retiring. June enjoyed wintering in Arizona and Texas. She liked fishing, crocheting and was a wonderful seamstress. She loved spending time with her family. June was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed in all of the lives she touched. Grateful for having shared her life are three daughters, Eleanor (James) DeBates of Jasper, Minn., Barbara (Roger) Olund of White Bear Lake, Minn., and Betty (Robert) Julson of Garretson; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
