Description	:	It is with heavy hearts that we said goodbye to June Collier, beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend. She passed peacefully on December 12th, at the age of 91. June was a daughter of the late George and Nita Hutt. She is survived by her son, Chris Collier (Pam); sister-in-law, Anne Hutt; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband, Bill Collier; brothers, Harry Hutt and Elroy Hutt (Kay); and sisters, Shirley Hutt, Doris Houghton (Tim), Ada Little (Doug) and Opal Bleasdale (Don). She is survived by her son, Chris Collier (Pam); sister-in-law, Anne Hutt; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband, Bill Collier; brothers, Harry Hutt and Elroy Hutt (Kay); and sisters, Shirley Hutt, Doris Houghton (Tim), Ada Little (Doug) and Opal Bleasdale (Don). June was born on June 6, 1926, in Marriott's Cove. After Grade 11 she taught school in Canaan. In 1947 she graduated from the Children's Hospital School of Nursing in Halifax, attaining her designation as a Registered Nurse in 1949. June joined Trans-Canada Airlines as a stewardess and enjoyed several years of travelling throughout the Atlantic Provinces before beginning her long career as an RN at the Halifax Children's Hospital and the Grace Maternity Hospital. June was a founding member and past president of the Central Service Association of Nova Scotia. She retired in 1991. June was a strong, independent woman, deeply committed to her nursing profession and most of all, her family and friends. Her son, Chris, was her pride and joy and she would say her greatest accomplishment. June loved a good party and her musical talents and sense of humour entertained all she knew. She loved to celebrate the holidays; no one decorated for Christmas like she did. She loved curling, jigsaw puzzles, a good game of bridge or 45's and adventures in the city with her nephew and partner-in-crime, Roger Bleasdale.
