She was born to Frank and Ruby Daniels of Wenatchee and Stemilt Hill in 1929. June attended schools in Wenatchee and graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1947. She was born to Frank and Ruby Daniels of Wenatchee and Stemilt Hill in 1929. June attended schools in Wenatchee and graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1947. She always wanted to live in California and moved to San Francisco at the age of 18, where she got a job as an office receptionist. One day, she was picking up airplane tickets for her boss and the lady that handed her the tickets said to her, "you should be a stewardess" and she went to stewardess school for American Airlines. She was only in that job a year and found that she didn't enjoy being a stewardess very much. She had requested to be based anywhere but New York, but that is where she was based. After leaving the airline, she went back to San Francisco, where she had many jobs, including modeling and television sales. At that time, she began taking classes at San Francisco State College. This led her to decide to go to UCLA and earn a degree. When she started, she wasn't sure if she wanted to be an English teacher or to be in social sciences. She eventually majored cultural anthropology and graduated with a degree in her major. As an under graduate, she spent one summer on the Colville Indian reservation, and wrote a paper on the lives of the Indian people and her paper was published in the Pacific Northwest Quarterly. Alter graduating, she decided that academicians were not doing, just intellectualizing, so she started doing and saved enough money to go to Europe by herself. She went to France, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, and the French Riviera. Said June of the European trip, "I found it gave me an objective look at our culture, and I was struck by the affluence and cleanliness of our country." Coming back to the United States, June got a job at Paramount Studios doing story analyses. Her function was to write synopses of plays, books, and other articles for producers, to possibly be used as plots in movies. She also reviewed books, and wrote reviews for the Los Angeles Times during this period. After about four years at Paramount, June switched to television and landed a job at Universal Studios. At Universal, June wrote formats for television shows. Some of these formats included "The Virginian," "Run for Your Life," "Bonanza" and "Wagon Train." After leaving Universal, June became press representative for the Los Angeles Superior Court system. She worked there three years. "I learned," she said, "that a single word can convey a tremendous amount of meaning." Some of her duties included writing all the press releases for the court, writing obituaries on the judges, writing speeches and annual reports. But, it wasn't all writing, said June. Sometimes things got very exciting. During the time she was there, there were shootings in the courtrooms, prisoners escaped and many officials, such as California Governor Ronald Reagan, were there. June also handled the press releases for all these events, too. Finally, June came home to Wenatchee in 1968, where she met her husband, Gene. She continued writing and enjoyed caring for her daughter, reading, and playing tennis. In 1975, June, Gene and their five year old daughter, Victoria, moved to Los Angeles, and June went back to work for various movie and television studios. In 1984, Gene and June decided to divorce. Gene move back to Wenatchee and June moved back to Wenatchee in 1987. June cared for her father until his death in 1990. Gene and June continued to associate and about 2007, she moved in with Gene. She missed the California winters, so she went to Santa Barbara for about a year, where she made new friends. She was always interested in people and made new friends wherever she went and continued to relate to her friends from prior years in Wenatchee. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the Stemilt Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions in June Chadderton's name may be made to "Hospice" at Central Washington Hospital.
