June was born June 4, 1914 in Fairfax, Washington to Victoria and Stanley Atherton. She was raised in Tacoma and Fairfax, and in 1932, was a member of the last class to graduate from Carbonado High School. She returned to Tacoma, where she attended business school and was employed at Kresses' Dime Store. June met Andy Kosko at a dance. June was born June 4, 1914 in Fairfax, Washington to Victoria and Stanley Atherton. She was raised in Tacoma and Fairfax, and in 1932, was a member of the last class to graduate from Carbonado High School. She returned to Tacoma, where she attended business school and was employed at Kresses' Dime Store. June met Andy Kosko at a dance. Soon afterwards they were married on June 6, 1936 and settled in Buckley. She worked at Dr. Peterson's office for nine years and later worked at Rainier State School where she retired in 1972 with 20 years of service. She attended Saint Aloysius Catholic Church and was active in the Altar Society. Andy and June also enjoyed membership in the Buckley Fraternal Order of Eagles. She loved going to the beach and cooking for her family. She is survived by her children, Patty Morton and husband Bill, Kenny Kosko and wife Fran, Nancy Wheelock and husband Warren, and her special friend, Don Paulson. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband Andrew Kosko and granddaughter, Cindy Argo. Viewing will be held Sunday, March 16th , 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Weeks' Funeral Home in Buckley. The funeral will be held Monday, March 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Aloysius Catholic Church with interment at Buckley City Cemetery. A reception will follow at Saint Aloysius Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the City of Buckley Fire Department "Aid Car" at PO Box 1960, Buckley, WA 98321.
