Description	:	Junius B. Morrison was born on August 10, 1848 near Oil City, Pennsylvania, and died at his home in Portland, Oregon October 27, 1932, aged 84 years, two months, and 17 days. Read More	Junius B. Morrison was born on August 10, 1848 near Oil City, Pennsylvania, and died at his home in Portland, Oregon October 27, 1932, aged 84 years, two months, and 17 days. While a mere boy, he came with his people to Illinois. The War broke out. His father had died. The lad, large for his years, though too young to be enlisted, went with the army in a helping capacity; and at the age of 16 was regularly enlisted in the 50th Illinois infantry, Company E, 3rd Brigade, 4th Division, and remained in service until the close of the War. His was an enviable war record, both from the standpoint of individual performance, and from the standpoint of service seen. He was in a number of the major battles terminating in the siege of Atlanta; and from there he went with Gereral Sherman on that historic march to the sea. From here he went north thru Richmond, Va. to Washington, D.C., where he, with his company, was in the Grand Review. The march ended at Louisville, Kentucky, where he was mustered out. Generals Logan and Sherman were his distinguished commanders. In 1869, Mr. Morrison was married to Miss Angelina McCoy at Clayton, Illinois. One son, Fred E. Morrison, was born to this union. In 1873, the Morrisons moved to Iowa, living until 1881 near where Gladwin is now located. From 1881 to 1883 they lived near Cone. Then in 1884, they moved to the Shaw farm, later known as the George Johnston farm, three miles south of Lone Tree. Here they lived for six years, and then bought a farm 5 miles south and east of Lone Tree, where they resided until they moved to Lone Tree in 1900. Here Mr. and Mrs. Morrison dwelt happily together, in a community that esteemed them highly, until Mrs. Morrison's death on May 29th, 1913. They were hospitable, friendly, kindly people and noble citizens. On September 21, 1914, Mr. Morrison was united in marriage with Mrs. Alma Albaugh. His home continued to be in Lone Tree for the most of the time until the last two years, when they moved to Portland, Oregon. Those surviving Mr. Morrison are his widow, Mrs. Alma Morrison, the one son, Fred Morrison of Lone Tree; 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
