Read More	* IN LOVING MEMORY OF * Justine (Beckman) Behrens was born on Monday; March 14, 1921 in Raeville; Boone County, Nebraska. She was the daughter of: Henry J. and Anna (Schalk) Beckman. She attended school in the Elgin, Nebraska area. On Thursday; June 5, 1941 she married Lawrence Behrens at Saint Boniface Church in Elgin; Antelope County, Nebraska. She had been married for 66 years at the time of her death. Together with her husband Lawrence they farmed in the Roselle; Carroll County, Iowa area for 54 years before retiring and moving to Carroll; Carroll County, Iowa in 1994. Justine was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and Quilters Group, Catholic Daughters of America, Court Sacred Heart #454 of Templeton, Iowa for over 50 years. She was a former member of the Halbur, Templeton and Roselle School Board, and the Holy Angels Altar Society. She was a homemaker to her family and loved sewing, quilting, gardening her flowers, baking, doing genealogy research and scrapbooking. Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and family members. Justine (Beckman) Behrens, age 86, passed away on Wednesday; November 14, 2007 at the Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs; Pottawattamie County, Iowa. Those left to mourn her passing are: Her husband: Lawrence of Carroll, Iowa. Her children: Carlene & her husband: Matt Murrane of Scranton; Greene County, Iowa. Leon & his wife: Diane Behrens of Omaha; Douglas County, Nebraska. Myra & her husband: Orlin Steinkamp of Wall Lake; Sac County, Iowa. Norm & his wife: Diane Behrens also of Wall Lake, Iowa. Sheila & her husband: Gerald Hahn of Carroll, Iowa. Mark & his wife: Kathy Behrens of Carroll, Iowa. Her twenty-three grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Her former daughter-in-law: Esta & her husband: Dean Raasch of Carroll, Iowa. Her sister-in-law: Patricia Beckman of Sugar Land; Fort Bend County, Texas. Justine is preceded in death by her parents. Her son: Ervin Behrens. Her brothers: Lawrence, Robert, Donald and Duane Beckman and her sister-in-law: Sally Beckman. Visitation will be after: 3:00 p.m. on Friday; November 16, 2007 at the Ohde Twit Funeral Home in Carroll with a rosary at 3:30 p.m. by the Catholic Daughters of America Court Sacred Heart #454 of Templeton; Carroll County, Iowa and a vigil service will begin at: 7:00 p.m. The casket will be moved to Holy Spirit Church on Saturday; November 17, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. for visitation prior to the Funeral mass. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at: 10:30 a.m. on Saturday; November 17, 2007 at Holy Spirit Church in Carroll, Iowa with Friar James McCormick, officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Carroll, Iowa. For condolences, please visit the funeral home's website.
