Description	:	Karen Jo Standorf, 64, of Eldora died Monday, July 19, 2004, at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls. Funeral services were Friday, July 23, at the First United Methodist Church in Eldora with Pastor Anne Lippincott officiating. Burial was at Eastlawn Memory Garden in Eldora. A memorial fund is being established in her name. Karen was born Aug. 5, 1939, in Colesburg to Harold and Zala Mae (Brown) Troester. She was educated in Giard and Monona, where she graduated from high school. On May 31, 1958, Karen was united in marriage to Harlan Standorf in Giard. The couple moved to Eldora in 1970. She worked for Greenbelt Health Care and helped Harlan as a bookkeeper for their trucking business. Karen enjoyed working as a volunteer and received the governor's award for volunteering in the 1980s. She also enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with her family. Karen was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Eldora. Survivors include her husband, Harlan; her mother, Zala, of Riceville; one son, Gregory of Eldora; two daughters, Michelle Ryan and husband Rod of Eldora and Kelly of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Danielle, Lacey, Alesha and Wylie; three brothers; and two sisters. She was preceded in death by her father. Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora was in charge of arrangements.
