Read More	Submitted by Doug Harsany: Obituary Cambridge Leader, August 18, 1949, Page 1 Last Rites Held For Karen Lou Crosser Karen Lou Crosser, little daughter of John and Elizabeth Crosser, was born March 14, 1941 in Nevada, Iowa. At the age of two years Karen moved to Cambridge with her parents and it was here that she started to school; she was to have been in the third year of school this fall. Karen was dedicated to the Lord in covenant in the Church of the Brethren in Fernald, Iowa, on September 18, 1943. In her years at Cambridge, she attended Sunday school at the Methodist church. On Wednesday, August 10, 1949, Karen was taken to the Lutheran hospital in Des Moines. At 1:55 p.m. Thursday, she departed from our midst to be with Jesus. She leaves to revere her memory her parents, three brothers, Robert John, 15 years, James Frederick, 13, and Jackie who is three years; one sister, Sally Mae, who is six. Besides the immediate family, she leaves her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Scarcello of Manley, Iowa, and Mrs. and Mrs. Fred Crosser of Buckeye. Also she leaves many aunts, uncles and cousins, and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 from the Cambridge Methodist church with the pastor, Mark Wetteland, in charge. The Methodist choir sang one hymn, "Fairest, Lord Jesus:, and Larry Nerness, soloist, sang "Gathering Buds" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus", with Mrs. John Dyer at the piano. There were gifts of money by relatives and friends in memory of Karen. The church was filled to capacity with sorrowing relatives and friends. Casket bearers wee Jane and Janice Hutson, Mae Harrison, Delores Thorson, Frances Blackwood, and Sue Carol O'Mara.
