Susan Omanson Joyce Anderson Shannon Dake Karen Sue Blevins, daughter of Harold and Jane (Trojovski) Blevins, was born January 17, 1946 in Osceola, NE. She grew up in Shelby, NE where she graduated from high school in 1964. Karen then attended Nebraska Wesleyan and graduated with a BA degree in teaching. She began her teaching career at Westpoint, NE. On April 3, 1969 she was united in marriage to Michael G. Trout in Shelby, NE. Karen then taught at Palmyra, NE for two years. The couple later made their home in Lincoln, NE and in 1973 moved to Kansas City. In 1974 they moved to Sioux Falls, SD where Karen taught German at Sioux Falls Christian. In addition to being a loving homemaker and wife, Karen joined her husband in business and was the office manager for the last 23 years. With her life truly centered on her family, Karen was a "best friend" to her children and always enjoyed visiting her grandchildren in Rapid City. In her free time, she loved to bake, sing and play the piano. She also enjoyed calligraphy. Always smiling, she continually would look to the positive side of life. Karen possessed a unique unselfish love, dedication and devotion to her church, husband, children, grandchildren and friends. Her gentle spirit and love for her family will be forever remembered. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Michael G. Trout, a son, Michael C. Trout and his wife Heidi, Sioux Falls, two daughters, Jennifer Brue and her husband Jon, Rapid City, SD, Elizabeth Trout, Sioux Falls, three grandchildren; Jazmin, Jake, and Jenna Brue, her mother, Jane Blevins, Shelby, NE, a brother, Hal Blevins and his wife Peggy, Omaha, NE, two sisters, Judy Mohl, Ypsilanti, MI, Angie Blevins, Belgrade, ME, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Belvins, and grandparents, Stella and Jerri Trojovski, and Verna and Harry Blevins. The family of Karen Trout thanks you for your support and presence today. An invitation is extended to join them at the church for refreshments and fellowship immediately following the funeral service.
