Karl was born on March 12, 1951 in Ames to Karl Jr. and Karine (Overland) Clark. He graduated from Gilbert High School and Iowa State University. Karl worked with his father and brothers in the family construction business. He took great joy in his family, especially his nieces and nephews, attending many of their events. Clark, III, age 69, of Ames IA, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Karl was born on March 12, 1951 in Ames to Karl Jr. and Karine (Overland) Clark. He graduated from Gilbert High School and Iowa State University. Karl worked with his father and brothers in the family construction business. He took great joy in his family, especially his nieces and nephews, attending many of their events. Karl was the family historian with a wonderful memory for details. He had a caring heart and passion for helping others. Karl was generous with his time and talents. He enjoyed life and always had a positive outlook. Karl is survived by his mother, Karine; five brothers: Mike of Carson City, Nevada, Steve of Ames, Gunnar of Carson City, Nevada, Jerry (Mary) of Ames, and Rob (Carrie) of Ames; nine nieces and nephews: Michael, Tammy, Crystal, Sarah, Dan, Mitch, Deanna, Katie, and Josh. Eleven great-nieces and nephews; and Christian Bezdicek who was like a son to him. He was proceeded in death by his father, Karl, Jr. Due to the CDC Guidelines regarding COVID-19, a private family graveside services will be held at Ames Municipal Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Adams Funeral Home and online condolences may be left for Karl’s family at www.adamssoderstrum.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gilbert Education Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
