Description	:	Karl Loewe, the son of David Andreas Loewe and Friedericke Umland, was born at Eberstein, near Naugard, Pomerania, Germany*. He was the first of three brothers to come to America; traveling with his sister, Augusta, his brother-in-law, the Reverend August Wolff, and their family, who arrived in 1863. Karl initially settled in Blakeley Township, Scott County, Minnesota, where it is thought the reverend may have been summoned to serve the Lutheran congregation there. Read More	Karl Loewe, the son of David Andreas Loewe and Friedericke Umland, was born at Eberstein, near Naugard, Pomerania, Germany. He was the first of three brothers to come to America; traveling with his sister, Augusta, his brother-in-law, the Reverend August Wolff, and their family, who arrived in 1863. Karl initially settled in Blakeley Township, Scott County, Minnesota, where it is thought the reverend may have been summoned to serve the Lutheran congregation there. Karl came to Cuming County, Nebraska in 1868 upon the invitation of his brother, Wilhelm, who had already located there. After his arrival, he homesteaded a farm south of his brother's homestead in Elkhorn Township in Cuming County. In 1871, he married Emilia Fullner of Stettin, Germany on her arrival in Nebraska. They initially lived in a dugout in the ground, which was located near the place where they would later build their home, and which served to protect them from intruders as well as prairie fires. Karl and Emilia lived on their homestead practically all their lives, rearing a family of 5 living children. Karl was also one of the founders of Immanuel Lutheran Church. The couple relocated to Beemer around 1911, but Karl returned after the death of Emilia in 1912. He then lived for the rest of his life on the farm with his son, Emil, who had assumed charge of it, and helped as he was able until such time as he joined his wife. NOTE: Today, Eberstein, Naugard, Pomerania is located in northwest Poland, and is near the Baltic Sea. ********************************************************
