Glasco Sun, June 23, 1927, page 1: TRAGIC DEATH OF A FORMER LOCAL FARMER Mr. Karl Wisinsci of Delphos, a former citizen and farmer of Glasco community, ended his life last Sunday by hanging himself in the county jail at Minneapolis. Mr. Wisinsci's sanity had been in doubt for some time and last Sunday he was taken to Minneapolis to be held for a hearing. Not thinking that he could or would do violence to himself the sheriff left him alone only to return and find that he had hung himself with an electric light cord. Mr. Wisinsci and family are well known in this community and had the respect of those who knew him. Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church, conducted by Rev. Albright. Interment was in Glasco Cemetery. Karl Justane Wisinsci was born on the 19th day of June 1884, in Tuchel, Germany. In his early life, he was baptized and confirmed in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church. His father died when he was 2 years old and his mother died when he was 5 years of age. Later in life he lived awhile in Buer, Germany, but in August 1910 he sailed from Antwerpen, Belgium for the United States. He resided a few months in Lincoln, Ill. then came to Glasco, Kansas where he lived with his aunt, Mrs. F. Tobald, until his marriage to Miss Elsie Henning on October 24, 1917. To this union one child was born, Anna Eva now age nine. Finding that his adopted country was the land of his choice, and wishing to give to her his loyalty and integrity, Karl spared no effort to become a citizen of these United States, completing his naturalization papers in September 1921. By trade Karl was a stone Mason and a monument to his industry are the many silo's, cement culverts and bridge work in Cloud county. "His work shall live after him." He leaves to mourn his death, besides his wife and daughter Anna, his Aunts, Mrs. Fred Tobald, Mrs. Augusta Studt, and Mrs. Caroline Knapp, all of Glasco, and three nephews, and one niece of Berlin, Germany and many other relatives and friends. Karl came to his death June 19, 1927, age 43 years. Through his 17 years of residence in our midst, he has, by his unselfishness and thoughtfulness, built for himself a place in the hearts and memories of his friends, neighbors and relatives which will be hard to refill. Always a kind and loving husband and father, his passing is a loss to the wife and little daughter which seems to much but as time passes they will learn to take a measure of comfort from the memory of the fact that they were always first with him, and he did his best for them.
