She was born Nov. 29, 1921 to Henry and Charlotte (Beethe) Bartels northwest of Steinauer, NE. She was baptized Dec. 18, 1921 and confirmed May 26, 1935 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Elk Creek. To this union five children were born. They joined... Read More	Katharine C. (Bartels) Antholz, 93 of rural Cook, passed away Feb. 21, 2015 at Belle Terrace in Tecumseh, NE. She was born Nov. 29, 1921 to Henry and Charlotte (Beethe) Bartels northwest of Steinauer, NE. She was baptized Dec. 18, 1921 and confirmed May 26, 1935 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Elk Creek. Katherine attended St. Peter’s Parochial School through the eighth grade. She was united in marriage to Albert “Bert” F. Antholz on Oct. 16, 1947 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Elk Creek, NE. To this union five children were born. They joined Grace Lutheran Church in Cook in 1948. Bert and Katharine moved a mile northwest of Cook after their marriage. In 1952 they moved to the present family farm 2 ½ miles northwest of Cook where they farmed and raised their family. Katharine was a charter member of the Bickel-Nelson American Legion Auxiliary of Cook. She enjoyed gardening, going to family reunions, attending church activities and helped Bert on the farm. Katharine was especially known for the meals she made for her family and hired farm help, and her ability to bake pies. When her health declined, Katherine became a resident of Belle Terrace in Tecumseh. She passed there on February 21, 2015 at the age of 93 years. She is survived by children, Don Antholz and wife Roberta, Linda Gapp and husband Tom, David Antholz and wife Jane, Delwin Antholz, Sam Antholz and wife Jane, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and sister-in-law Wilma Antholz. Katharine was preceded in death by her parents, husband Albert, granddaughter, Heather Antholz and brothers, Orvin and Delmar Bartels. Funeral services will be held at the Grace Lutheran Church in Cook, Nebraska, at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2015 with Rev. Jim Helgren officiating. Visitation will be at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska, Monday, February 23, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorials may go to the Grace Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery, rural Cook, Nebraska.
