Description	:	Katherine Agnes Clymer, 87, Royal City, a former Wenatchee resident, passed away on Friday, August 8, 1997, at her daughter's home in Royal City. Katherine was born on January 11, 1910, to Joseph and Lizzie (Bleyhl) Heywood in Scribner, Nebraska. At the age of 7, she moved with her family to Dix, Nebraska, and to Loveland, Colorado, at the age of 14. She graduated from high school there and from St. Joseph's Hospital Nursing School in Denver, Colorado, as a registered nurse in 1931. Read More	Katherine Agnes Clymer, 87, Royal City, a former Wenatchee resident, passed away on Friday, August 8, 1997, at her daughter's home in Royal City. Katherine was born on January 11, 1910, to Joseph and Lizzie (Bleyhl) Heywood in Scribner, Nebraska. At the age of 7, she moved with her family to Dix, Nebraska, and to Loveland, Colorado, at the age of 14. She graduated from high school there and from St. Joseph's Hospital Nursing School in Denver, Colorado, as a registered nurse in 1931. She also was an organist at Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Denver. She married James Ray Clymer in Loveland, Colorado, in 1934. They moved with their three children to Wenatchee in 1942, where their last three children were born. She was a mother and homemaker until 1958, when she returned to her nursing career. She was employed at St. Anthony's Hospital and Rosewood Hospital on the medical floor at night for 14 years before retiring in 1972. Following her retirement, she worked at Colonial Vista Convalescent Center as a relief nurse for another five years. She moved to Royal City in 1991 to reside with her daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Larry Sather. Katherine was an avid reader and enjoyed flower gardening and embroidery. She also loved her pets. She kept a diary of most of her life and enjoyed sharing pages of her diary with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, of whom she was very proud. Her most prized accomplishment was a circle letter between her 10 granddaughters that she spearheaded to ensure that they remained acquainted with each other. She loved her whole family. She was a past member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wenatchee and a present member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Royal City. She also was a member of the Royal Slope Senior Citizens. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, James J. and Lucille Clymer of Roseburg, Oregon, David R. and Virginia Clymer of the Philippines and Thomas L. and Chris Clymer of Wenatchee; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rose Marie and Jack Kirkbride of Bellingham and Anita L. and Larry Sather of Royal City; four grandsons; 10 granddaughters; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her kitty and best friend, Chloe. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Clymer; one daughter, Marcella Clymer; two brothers, Walter and Arther Heywood; and one sister, Angeline Dwinelle.
