(Barr) Cavanagh, 87, of 2501 North Main St., died Monday in Fairlawn Nursing Home in Leominster after an illness. She leaves her husband of 60 years, Martin J. Cavanagh ; a son, Michael Cavanagh of Leominster; three daughters, Mary J. Stanton of Leominster, Ellen F. Aubuchon of Lunenburg, and Clare E. Breen of Lancaster; and six grandchildren. She was born and raised in Leominster, daughter of Frank and Matilda (Tansy) Barr, and moved to Lancaster many years ago. She graduated from Leominster High School, Fitchburg Normal School, now known as Fitchburg State College, and from Worcester State College. Mrs. Cavanagh was a teacher at Memorial School in Lancaster for 20 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Leominster Eagles Auxiliary, Daughters of Isabella and the Massachusetts Teachers Association. She was also a Girl Scout leader. The funeral will be held tomorrow from Wright-Roy Funeral Home, 109 West St., Leominster, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Packard Street, Lancaster. Burial will be in St. Leo's Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours are 7 to 9 tonight and 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. tomorrow at the funeral home.
