Description	:	Katherine C. Dworshak, 87, Bismarck, died June 21, 2006, at a Bismarck care center. Katherine was born on March 17, 1919, in Flasher, North Dakota, the daughter of Anton and Rose (Kraft) Dworshak. She was raised on a farm eleven miles east of Flasher and attended school in a one-room rural school house in Morton County. Katherine's mother died in October of 1928. Read More	Katherine C. Dworshak, 87, Bismarck, died June 21, 2006, at a Bismarck care center. Katherine was born on March 17, 1919, in Flasher, North Dakota, the daughter of Anton and Rose (Kraft) Dworshak. She was raised on a farm eleven miles east of Flasher and attended school in a one-room rural school house in Morton County. Katherine's mother died in October of 1928. She lived on the farm with her father until 1939 when she moved to Burleigh County and worked on a cattle ranch east of Bismarck. In the spring of 1940, Katherine moved to Bismarck and worked on a dairy farm. In the winter of 1940, she moved to Los Angeles, California, where she worked at a Sears Roebuck Store. In 1944, Katherine joined the Franciscan Sisters at Joliet, Illinois, and worked at many of their hospitals and nursing homes until 1973 when she left the Convent and moved back to Bismarck. She worked at United Tribes as a daycare provider until her retirement due to declining health. She entered Sunrise Assisted Living Care Center in 2001 and in 2003, due to health reasons, entered Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center. Katherine is survived by her brothers, Michael Dworshak of Springfield, Oregon, and Anton Dworshak of Bismarck, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Anna and Mary; and her brothers, Joseph, Nick, and Peter. Burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in Bismarck.
