Description	:	Funeral services for Katherine D. Petersen, 88, of Lake View were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 14, 1993, at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake. Pastor Roger Carlisle officiated. Mrs. Petersen passed away at Twilight Acres in Wall Lake on Sunday, April 11, 1993. Music was by organist Mrs. Jack Nuetzman, keyboard player Mrs. Henry Potthoff and congregational singing. Mrs. Roger Schmidt, Mrs. Jack Stickrod and Mrs. Marvin Dreessen were in charge of floral arrangements. Katherine Dorothy Petersen was born June 10, 1904, in Charter Oak, IA., the daughter of Emil and Emma Henschen Kuhl. She was baptized a Lutheran in Charter Oak and confirmed in Schleswig. She married Jurgen F. Petersen in Denison on April 16, 1924, and they lived in the Denison, Schleswig and Wall Lake areas. She helped with farming, was a housewife, and was employed as a cook at the Jacobs Nursing Home, retiring in 1959. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed crocheting. Survivors include four sons: Minard of Lake View, Reynold of Osakis, Minn., Vernon of Sac City and Merlin of Lombard, Ill.; a daughter, Bertha Sundrup of Aurora, Colo.; 26 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jurgen; a daughter, Irene; two brothers, Henry and Fred; and a sister, Caroline.
