K. MCDOUGALL GOES TO REWARD Ten Member Clubs of Plymouth County To Be Represented Mrs. K. E McDougall, a resident of LeMars and Grant township for the past fifty years, died at her home in LeMars on Friday, April 12, of a heart attack . Kate Emily Noble was born in Wheatland, Clinton county, Iowa, on October 7, 1859, where she grew to girlhood. She moved with her parents to a farm near Hinton, where she followed the vocation of teaching school in south Plymouth and Sioux counties. It was during this time she met Alexander McDougall, a Civil War veteran, who later became her husband on April 11, 1881, at Hinton, Iowa, after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. McDougall established their home in Section 2 Grant township, where they resided until they retired from farm life and moved to LeMars in 1917. Mrs. McDougall and her husband spent six years in this city together until his death in March 21, 1923, after which she continued to make her home at the same location living alone. Mrs. McDougall was one of the pioneer spirits of the community. Her cheerful disposition and generosity was known and enjoyed by every one with whom she came in contact. Her unselfish disposition caused her to be loved by all as she was always ready and willing to give aid and assistance to those who were in need. Her church activities were numerous, being the leader in the Struble Methodist church for many years prior to her residence in LeMars, when she became a member of the Presbyterian church and remained a faithful worker until her demise. Mrs. McDougall was the mother of nine children, eight surviving her. One daughter Jennie Louise Day, passed away May 7, 1907 (actually 1906). Her children who are here to mourn her loss are: Rev. Geo. F. McDougall, Grand Junction, Colo.; Mrs. Maggie Nanninga, Beresford, S.D.; Mrs. Annie Nanninga, Ireton, Iowa; Mrs. Florence Delperdang, Hawarden, Iowa; Mrs. Grace Null, LeMars; Mrs. Alice Wells, Ireton, Iowa; Alexander and Judson, of Struble, Iowa. Besides these children she leaves thirty-two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren to mourn her passing. She is survived by three brothers and five sisters; A. P. Noble, Craig; J.H. Noble, Mitchell, S. D.; Geo. Noble, Long Island, Ala.; Jennie Noble, Sioux City, Iowa; Lulu Wiley, Aberdeen, S. D.; Ruth Wiley, Summit, S. D.; Ruth Wiley, Summit, S. D.; Edna Slents, Casanovia, N. Y., and Jessie Hatter, Merrill. The funeral will be held Tuesday, at 2:30 p.m., at the Presbyterian church, Dr. J. J. DePree, assisted by Rev. R. H. Aurand officiating. McDougall, a well known resident of Le Mars for many years, was found dead at her home Saturaday evening. She has succombed to an attack of heart trouble and had apparently been dead several hours. Mrs. McDougall was down town Thursday, and appeared in her usual good health and spirits. She had informed friends she was going away Friday to visit friends. Members of the family living in the country called at the houseliving in the country called at the house Saturday towards evening and seeing an accumlation of milk on the porch, sensed something was wrong and forced entranced into the house as all the doors were locked.
