She had been seriously sick the past several days. Surviving are three sons, Martin C., Richmond Calif., Guy and B. M., Norfolk, and one daughter, Mrs. Henry Hans, Richmond. Mrs. Jewett was preceded in death by her husband, James JeWett (sic), who died in 1929. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Berge-Thenhaus-Howser-Swoboda Home for Funerals by the Rev. L. Wilmer Van Auken, pastor of the Park Avenue Church of Christ. Burial will be made in Prospect Hill cemetery. The body will lie in state from 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Home for Funerals. (second article) Funeral services for Mrs. Kate Jewett, 81, who died Friday morning at 3:15 o'clock at her home, 205 South Twelfth street, following a severe illness of several days were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Berge-Thenhaus-Howser-Svoboda Home for Funerals with the Rev. L. Wilmer Van Auken in charge of the service. Interment was made in Prospect Hill cemetery. Pallbearers were Harry Osterling, Charles Robinson, William Neuman, John Reinhold, Frank Schultz, and Charles Wilson. Mrs. Jewell was born Kate Hopkins in Stark (sic) county, Ind., on Dec. 16, 1860. On March 30, 1881, she was married to James D. Jewett at West Creek, Lake county, Ind., later moving to Stanton county, Nebraska. She was a member of the Baptist church, her present membership in the Stanton Baptist church. Surviving her are four children, three boys, Martin, Richmond, Calif., Gus and Bherl of Norfolk, one daughter, Mrs. Henry Hans of Richard, seventeen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
