Description	:	Katherine (Beimers) Kuiper 86, of Sioux Center was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at her residence. She celebrated her 86th birthday on Aug. 1. Her husband, Lou tended lovingly to his wife in their home until cancer took her life. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center, with the Rev. Her husband, Lou tended lovingly to his wife in their home until cancer took her life. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center, with the Rev. Aldon Kuiper officiating. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, with the Rev. Carl Klompien officiating. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the family present 2 to 4 p.m., at Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center. She was the wife of Louis Kuiper. They married on June 12, 1946 in Sibley, Iowa. The couple farmed by Sanborn, Iowa and later near Melvin, Iowa. They also lived in Sanborn for a short time and then moved to Sioux Center in 1962 and have lived there ever since. Kathy worked at the Office of Public Affairs when she was younger. She also worked at Dordt College for 11 years. She was an active member of First Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center. She was a prayer warrior. Even in her final days, Kathy offered prayers for those she loved. She was not a complainer. Although Kathy suffered from MS for decades, she continued to live cheerfully. The end of her journey was completed with courage and faith. During her two-year battle with cancer, she was a living testimony to living each day to the fullest, to loving your people and to resting peacefully in the arms of God. Kathy was deeply loved. She will be missed but never forgotten. When they were younger, Kathy and Lou enjoyed fishing and golfing together. In their later years, they enjoyed playing games, going out to eat, attending community events and being with their family and friends. They enjoyed being together. Kathy and Lou had three children, La Donna (married to Norm Cleveringa) of rural Rock Valley, Iowa, Kevin (married to Garn Altena) of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Sandi (married to Dan Altena) of Sioux Center. They have 15 grandchildren, Chris, Ryan, Darin, and Ross Cleveringa, Alanda Koenen, Teissa Green, Paige Vanden Bosch, Luke Kuiper, Dusty, Michael, Jaime, Niki, Mark, Som and Kaida Altena. They also have 19 great-grandchildren. These families were the joy of Kathy’s life. Kathy was also blessed with three siblings, Theresa Riemersma of Sioux Center, Dorothy Andersen of Sioux City and Bill Beimers (married to Esther) of Luverne, Minn. The family wishes to thank Kathy’s friends, neighbors, church, and especially the Hospice team that walked with her during her final months. Their support and comfort are deeply appreciated.
