Katherine Huchler, daughter of Joseph and Scholastika Huchler, was born at Hohenems, Tyrol, Austria, on July 20, 1861. Read More	*The Dunlap Reporter, 21 January 1943, p. 1, col. 2:* Mrs. John Stroeher who has been in failing heath the past year, went into a coma Friday and peacefully slept away January 13, 1943, at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 23 days. Katherine Huchler, daughter of Joseph and Scholastika Huchler, was born at Hohenems, Tyrol, Austria, on July 20, 1861. She was the second child of a family of eight children, and grew to womanhood in the beautiful Tyrolean country. She was married to John Stroeher in 1885 and came to this country in 1888, and located at Neola, Iowa. In 1894 they moved to Dunlap and have lived in this vicinity ever since. She was the mother of five children, Alex, John and Tony, and two children who died in infancy. Her husband preceded her in death ten years ago, on December 29, 1932. She was a kind neighbor, a loving, Christian mother, and always had a smile and a cheerful word for everyone. She leaves to mourn her loss her three sons, Alex of Dunlap; John and Tony of Woodbine; one brother, Anton Huchler, who made his home with her, and one sister of Hohenems, Austria. A Requiem High Mass was sung by Father Ford at St. Patrick's church, Saturday, Jan. 16, and interment was made in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Pall bearers were Tom Buckley, John Adams, Matt Wettengel, Al Stoltz, George Buter and Jerry Grote.
