Katharina Reiter was born to her parents Mr. and Mrs. Johann and Margareta Reiter on 16 March 1882 in Kautz, Russia. As a child she received Holy Baptism and was confirmed. In 1902 she married her now grieving husband, with whom she was blessed with eight children. Two of these children died before their mother in childhood. Katharina Reiter was born to her parents Mr. and Mrs. Johann and Margareta Reiter on 16 March 1882 in Kautz, Russia. As a child she received Holy Baptism and was confirmed. In 1902 she married her now grieving husband, with whom she was blessed with eight children. Two of these children died before their mother in childhood. The Reiter Family traveled from the old country and came in 1907 to Lincoln, Nebr. and stayed here for two years. Since then their home was here in Laurel, Mont., which makes it a lot of years that Sister Reiter was a member of our congregation and attended church services, until for one year when she was very sick and had to stay at home. She had acute asthma, as well as heart trouble, which is what caused her death on Saturday afternoon 25 May. She reached the age of 53 years, 2 months, and 4 days. Those surviving her, besides her husband, are six children: Mrs. Joseph Gettman, Loveland, Colo.; Alexander, Jakob, Marie, Elizabeth, and Rose, all living here, as well as three brothers: George in Lincoln, Nebr., Friedrich in Pengrove, Calif., and Peter in Hastings, Nebr.; also a sister: Mrs. Phillip Reiter in Wellington, Colo. Her last words were, "I will walk quickly towards life." On 26 May, with a large participation from our church, she was taken to her final place of rest. Pastor A. Schiller of Billings officiated.
