Description	:	HAZEN - Katherine Marie Duma, 68, Hazen, died March 28, 2009, at Sakakawea Medical Center, Hazen, following a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Thursday, April 2, at St. Martin Catholic Church, Hazen, with the Rev. Johnson Kuriappilly officiating. Burial will be in St. Martin Catholic Cemetery, Hazen. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. MDT Wednesday at the church where a rosary/vigil service will begin at 7 p.m. MDT. Kathy was born May 11, 1940, in Shields, the 13th of 13 children of Joseph and Susanna (Harsche) Gross. She was raised and educated in Shields and Bismarck. Kathy married Gerald Lyle Duma on Sept. 23, 1963, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bismarck. They made their home in Bismarck until 1977, when they moved their family to Hazen. Kathy and Jerry were married for 25 years, when Jerry passed away in June 1989. Kathy was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Hazen. She worked for 29 years at Union State Bank in Hazen and retired in May 2006. She enjoyed music and played the accordion and piano by ear. Kathy was especially proud of her family and loved attending her grandchildren's activities. Kathy is survived by five children, Kim (Gerald) Wolf, Hazen, Leann Duma, Milwaukee, Scott Duma and his fiancee, Kim Engbrecht, Hazen, Denise (Jason) Carter, Morris, Minn., and Michelle (Jon) Reinhardt, Bismarck; six grandchildren, Krissondra and Ryan Wolf, Ashton Carter, MacKenzie, Sawyer and Jaran Reinhardt; three sisters, Helen McNamee, Park City, Mont., Barbara Turgeon and Susan Jueth, both of Bismarck,; three brothers, Bert Gross and George Gross, both of Mandan, and Adolph Gross, Bismarck. Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; her parents; two brothers, Joseph Gross and John Gross; and four sisters, Marie Kraft, Anna Silbernagel, Lillian Kraft and Frances Haugen.
