Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon, by the Rev. A. J. Boehm of Zion Lutheran church in the home at 1:30 and at the Zion Lutheran church in Ogden at 2 o'clock. Mrs. R. B. Douglas, Mrs. Wm. Manion, Arnold, Hugo Boehm furnished the music. They sang "Abide With Me," "Rest" and "Heaven is My Home." The following gentlemen, nephews of the deceased, acted as pallbearers: Norman Maas, LuVerne Maas, Walter Paulson, Herbert Paulson, Vernon Paulson, Julian Paulson. The following ladies had charge of the flowers: Ruth Paulson, Leone Paulson, Irene Maas and Juanita Maas. Interment was made in the Lutheran cemetery north of Ogden. OBITUARY - Mrs. Katherine Juhl, wife of Mr. Peter Juhl and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Melchert passed away very suddenly last Wednesday evening at 11 o'clock in her home in this county, eleven miles northwest of Ogden at the age of 54 years, 1 month and 11 days in consequence of heart failure. Mrs. Juhl had been suffering with rheumatism and high blood pressure for the last seven years, although being somewhat handicapped on account of this yet she was able to attend to her household duties. Last Wednesday evening she attended the graduating exercises at the Dana high school, one of her nieces being a member of this year's graduating class. Just as the speaker of the evening began his address, Mrs. Juhl suddenly collapsed. A doctor was called immediately but her case was pronounced hopeless. She was conveyed to her home in an ambulance where she expired soon after, never having regained conscious-(ness) after her stroke. All the members of her family and her aged mother were able to be at her bedside during her last moments. The deceased was born on April 16, 1882 on the same place where she passed away. She was confirmed in 1896 by the late Rev. Jipp in the Lutheran faith to which she remained loyal unto death. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran church and its Ladies Aid. In 1897 she was united in marriage with Mr. Peter Juhl. Ever since they have farmed and lived on their present home place. Their union was blessed with 4 sons and 3 daughters. The deceased is survived by her husband, Mr. Peter Juhl and the following children: Edward Juhl of Dana, Mrs. Con Peterson of Boxholm, Clarence Juhl of Dana, Walter and Wilber Juhl, Miss Pauline and Miss Luella Juhl all of Dana and the last three still at home; two grandchildren, her aged mother, Mrs. Hans Melchert. Her father passed away 16 years ago and her brother, 12 years ago. Two sisters, Mrs. Louis Paulson of Ogden, Mrs. Harry Paulson of Grand Junction also survive. The other sister, Mrs. Herman Maas, passed away 6 years ago.
