CARTER BRONSON - Katherine V. Carter of Bronson died Friday at Shands at the University of Florida following a sudden illness. She was 85. Born in Middlebury, Vt., Mrs. Carter came to Bronson in 1974 from Winchester, N.H. Mrs. Carter was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, and was an avid bingo player. She was Catholic. She was preceded in death by two sons, Raymond Dear and Ronald Dear, and by a daughter, Shirley Dear. Survivors include her husband, Sidney D. Carter of Bronson; four sons, a brother, James P. Carpenter Jr. of Winchester, N.H.; a sister, Elizabeth Lane of Keene, N.H.; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
