Mrs. Stuck had lived in this community for the past 26 years. Surviving are four daughters, three sons and one brother of Clay Center, besides other relatives. The body will be at the home of Mrs. Maude Simmons, 307 Southwest Third street, until the time of services and friends may call. Obit: Clay Center Times; June 1936 Mrs. Katherine Walters Stuck who died at Herington, May 22, 1936, was an early resident of the Oak Hill community. She was the daughter of Solomon and Deliah Walters, and was born in Fulton county, Indiana. She came to Kansas with her parents in 1878, and they settled near Oak Hill. She was united in marriage with W.M. Stuck December 20, 1879, and to this union nine children were born. Two of them died in infancy. In the year of 1902 the Stuck family moved to Abilene. Mr. Stuck died August 26, 1926, but Mrs. Stuck continued to make her home in Abilene until declining health forced her to make her home with her children. She is survived by seven children, Mrs. Minnie Marshall, Mrs. Maude Simmons, Carles, Melvin and W.J. Stuck, all of Abilene; Mrs. Myrtle Heilman and Mrs. Maude Ferris of Herington; also 19 grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren; one brother, J.D. Walters of Clay Center, two half brothers, Henry and David Walters of Abilene, and a half sister, Mrs. E.H. Berger of Abilene. Mrs. Stuck was a member of the Evangelical church, and was an active worker in the church as long as her health permitted. Her greatest ambition was doing what she could for others, especially her children. Member of Evangelical Church in Abilene, KS.
