Born May 11, 1896, Mrs. Shockley was a daughter of Mrs. Lou Emma Harmon Farmer, who survives, and the late Marion McCloskey Farmer. Funeral services were held at the Church of the Living God, on Shaw Street in Galax today (Thursday) at 11:00 a.m., by the Rev. L. S. Haymore, the Rev. W. B. Salmon and the Rev. Connie H. Frazier. Interment was in Felts Cemetery. The body was removed Tuesday afternoon from Vaughan - Guynn Funeral Home, Galax, to the residence, where it rested until placed in the church one hour before the services. Galax Gazette 5/8/1958
