Kathleen Ann Wheelock was born on January 17, 1948 to Raymond J. and Dorothy A. (Rinehart) Wheelock at the Boone County Hospital. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School, where she graduated in 1966. Kathy was united in marriage with Charles “Chuck” L. Wheelock on June 23, 1990 in Boone. Chuck and Kathy enjoyed time together in nature and loved each other almost as much as they loved their faith. Kathy was a member of the Church of the Sacred Heart, where she would volunteer to be involved in various committees and activities over the years. In her younger years, she played the organ for mass and funeral services. When she was not volunteering through church, she was volunteering at Boone County Hospital or the Boone Area Humane Society. Outside Kathy’s volunteerism, she enjoyed photography and genealogy. She was a talented photographer. Through genealogy, she was full of knowledge to help her relatives trace their ancestors. Some of the genealogy, she had tracked back to the 1700’s on some sides of the family. Kathy was preceded by her parents; and her husband, Chuck Wheelock, on January 3, 1999. She is survived by her sister-in-law’s, Connie (Richard) Martin of Princeton, TX and Cheryl (Bob) Hoeg of Des Moines, IA; “adopted” daughter, Keli (Mike) Tallman of Gilbert, IA; many cousins and extended relatives; and her fur babies, Rusty and Daisy. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets in Boone. Online condolences may be left to Kathy’s family at www.schroedermemorialchapel.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Church of the Sacred Heart in Boone.
