Description	:	Kaye’s life began February 13, 1930 on the Jacob Schadel homestead in Pawnee County KS. She was the daughter of William Theodore and Edith Frances (Schadel) Neumeyer. She was educated at the Lanark Country School, followed by Burdett High School, Fort Hays State College and Emporia State University. Kaye was united in marriage to Gayle A. Krause on July 29, 1950 in Burdett KS. Gayle and Kaye were both educators teaching in Holcomb, Dorrance, Cimarron, Illinois, Butler Community College and Towanda/Circle USD 375. Kaye retired from teaching in 1992. She was a member of the First Christian Church in El Dorado KS, a volunteer for the I Can Read program at the grade schools and devoted to caregiving for several relatives. Family was very important to Kaye, and her loving family includes her children: Douglas (Karen) Krause of Thornton CO, Shane (Peggy) Krause of El Dorado, Matthew (Laurin) Krause of Indian Harbour Beach FL; grandchildren Salem, Jessica, Kelly, Jannica and Kerry; great grandchildren Belle, Hannah, Derek, Bryan, Josylin, Evelyn, Celina, Logan, Owen and Amelia; and nephew Nick (Lisa) Neumeyer of Desert Hot Springs CA. Kaye passed away at her home on September 30, 2016. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Gayle, and brother Glenn Neumeyer. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday October 4 at the First Christian Church led by Pastor Stan Seymour. Kaye will be laid to rest in Walnut Valley Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Butler Community College Foundation for the Gayle A. Krause Mathematics and Engineering Scholarship or the George and Esther Neumeyer Scholarship.
