Description	:	Our precious wife, mother and grandmother, Kathleen Rosin, 78, passed away peacefully at her home in Billings on Aug. 3, 2013. She was born on March 23, 1935, to Dan and Martha Gaskill in Miles City, Mont. She grew up with her siblings, Ray, Marjorie and Mary Rose, on their family ranch outside of Ashland. She attended grade school in Ashland, going onto Powder River High School in Broadus through her sophomore year, and then graduating from St. Labre Mission in 1953. Read More	Our precious wife, mother and grandmother, Kathleen Rosin, 78, passed away peacefully at her home in Billings on Aug. 3, 2013. She was born on March 23, 1935, to Dan and Martha Gaskill in Miles City, Mont. She grew up with her siblings, Ray, Marjorie and Mary Rose, on their family ranch outside of Ashland. She attended grade school in Ashland, going onto Powder River High School in Broadus through her sophomore year, and then graduating from St. Labre Mission in 1953. She was class secretary/treasurer, played the French horn in band, participated in glee club and the class play and was also a cheerleader. When asked to describe the perfect woman, her male classmates said this woman would have Kathleen's "sparkling personality." After graduating, she kept books for the Phillips Gas Station in Ashland for just a short time before falling in love and marrying Donivan Rosin on Jan. 12, 1957, in Billings. Once married, they moved to Billings, and she never worked outside the home again, but instead, volunteered at school and church and Boy Scouts. She also cared for several additional children during our young lives and watched over them as if they were her own, making sure we understood at all times what it must be like to be away from one's mother the entire day. First and foremost, she was a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother, in addition to being a devoted, loyal wife. Her family meant the world to her. There was plenty of work with raising eight children plus others, and we're sure there were days we tried her patience to the limit. However, she had a kind and humble heart and rarely lost her temper. She was always available to listen and give good, sound advice. She enjoyed the simple things in life and was never for want of worldly goods. To be with her family and friends was her greatest joy. She was a marvelous cook and was unmatched when it came to preparing wild game. She could sew beautifully and made many an outfit for a special occasion, from tents, down vests and sleeping bags to prom, bridesmaids', flower girls' and wedding dresses. She loved to laugh and tease and act silly with her own mother and sisters and later, with her daughters and granddaughters. There are so many things we will miss about her loving, tender ways. She was the biggest influence in our lives, and we will be forever grateful for the blessings she provided on this earth. God now has bigger plans for Kathleen, and he will not be disappointed. She is survived by her husband, Donivan; her brother, Ray (Wanda) Gaskill; her sister, Mary Rose (Donald) Kolka; and her brother-in-law, Junior Livingston; her children, Doug (Carol) Rosin, Dan (Kay) Rosin, Becky Rye, Lynn Rosin, Vivian (Lance) Kosmann, Todd Rosin, Penny (Michael) Crumrine, Andrea (Brian) Seaholm; her grandchildren, Donald, Jamie, Danny, Tommy, Kati, Kai, Alicia, Bryan, Aaron, Valerie, Bradley, Marissa, Parker, Alex, Addy, Madi, Macy; and her great-grandchildren, Ellisyn, Emery, Jaxon, Joy, A.J., Khyl, Jaysen, Oliver, Gavin, Emma; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim and Sara, you both were very special to her as well. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Dan and Martha Gaskill; and her sister, Marjorie Livingston. A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, both at Smith Downtown Chapel, located at 925 S. 27th St. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation begins 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, also at Smith Downtown Chapel. Memorials can be sent to St. Pius Church or to a charity of one's choice.
