Description	:	Kathleen G. Bittinger, 90, of Defiance, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2016, with her daughters at her side. She was born November 21, 1925, in Adams Township, Ohio, to Albert and Agnes (Willitzer) Steffel. On October 24, 1953, she married Paul E. Bittinger, who preceded her in death on October 14, 1993. She graduated from Jewel High School and attended Defiance College. Bittinger, 90, of Defiance, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2016, with her daughters at her side. She was born November 21, 1925, in Adams Township, Ohio, to Albert and Agnes (Willitzer) Steffel. On October 24, 1953, she married Paul E. Bittinger, who preceded her in death on October 14, 1993. She graduated from Jewel High School and attended Defiance College. Kathleen was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Rosary Society She especially enjoyed working in the church office. She worked many years as a dental assistant and as assistant office manager, for both Dr. Edward Willey and Dr. Gregg Warner. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Susan (Norm) Walker of Defiance, Ohio, and Nancy Browns of Avon Lake, Ohio. She is also survived by a sister, Irene Steffel, of Defiance. She is survived by her grandchildren, Ryan (Kirsten) Walker, Ashley (Kurt) Vollmar, Christopher (Michelle) Prokup, Sara Prokup and Alexander Prokup (Danielle Conte). She is survived by great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Barrett Walker, Allison and Morgan Vollmar and Henry Prokup. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at St. Mary Catholic Church. A rosary service will be held Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home.
