She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Earling, Iowa. She graduated from St. Joseph's High School in 1947. She received normal training and began teaching country school. Read More	Huebner Funeral Home Kathleen M Erlbacher January 9, 1929 - April 3, 2014 Kathleen (Katie) Erlbacher was born on January 9, 1929, to Charles and Julia (Dresen) Miller on the family farm one half mile west of Earling. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Earling, Iowa. She graduated from St. Joseph's High School in 1947. She received normal training and began teaching country school. On June 1, 1949, Katie was united in marriage to Johnny Erlbacher at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Earling, Iowa. Four children were born to this union: Dale, Russ, Glen and Donna Jean. After their marriage they raised their family on a farm four miles north of Earling, Iowa. In 1975, Katie went to work at Cronks Café in Denison, Iowa and continued to work there 38 years later until the end of 2013 when she had her surgery. She was well-known as the "Omelet Lady" to the locals in Denison, Iowa. In October of last year, Katie had open heart surgery. She became ill and died peacefully on Thursday, April 3, 2014, having attained the age of 85 years and 3 months. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Johnny, daughter Donna Jean, sisters Eunice Assmann, Shirley Lefeber and Virgie Goeres++, and her brother Tony Miller. She will be missed by her children: Dale and his wife, Donna, Glen and his wife, Joyce, , Russ and his special friend, Julie and her longtime friend, Rosemary , who was always there for her when she needed anything. Katie had four grandchildren: Gina (Josh), Eddie (Jill) , Cody (and special friend, Deborah) , Marisa, and 5 great grandchildren: Austin, Peyton, and Joshua and Aubrey and Ethan. ++ Virgie Goeres is a cousin.
