She died Dec. 3, 1991, at Myrtue Memorial Hospital in Harlan, at age 71 years, two months and 11 days.She was baptized and confirmed at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Missouri Valley. She attended grade school in Center twp. in Harrison county, then in Beebeetown, before graduating from Missouri Valley High School in 1937. She was then employed for a time in Des Moines and Omaha. June 11, 1945, she married Felix Dotzler at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Missouri Valley. Five children were born to this union. After their marriage, they made their home in Harlan. She was employed for a time at Variety Distributors, and later became employed in the Harlan Community School system, in the high school principal's office, and later for the Superintendent of Schools. She also served as the Secretary for the Harlan Community School board for five years before retiring in 1982. In addition to being a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Harlan, she was also active in St. Michael's Guild. Preceding her in death were her parents; a daughter, Vicki Jolene; a grandson, Gregory Finken; and two brothers, John and Phil Fagan. Survivors are her husband, Felix of Harlan; three daughters, Sharon (Steve) Finken, Pam (Mike) Jensen, both of Harlan and Patricia Dotzler of West Los Angeles, CA.; a son, Dick (Maryalyce) Dotzler of Harlan; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Paul (Elaine) Fagan of Missouri Valley; and Kenneth Fagan of Omaha, NE.; and one sister, Angela (Glen) Smith of Missouri Valley; nieces and nephews and others relatives. A Mass of Christian Burial was concelebrated Dec. 6, 1991, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Harlan with Rev. Daniel Petsche, celebrant. Rev. Mike McLaughlin was the homilist with final commendation and graveside services conducted by Rev. Edward Kelly. Burial was in the Harlan cemetery with Bob Dotzler, Neil Fagan, LaVern Koppold, Frank Koppold, Dennis A. Dotzler, and Marlin Lustgraaf,casketbearers. Pauley Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
