Mrs. Floyd was a daughter of the late James P. and Rosa Lee Daniels Ray. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Aynor. Mrs. Floyd was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Conway Medical Center and Conway Manor until her retirement at age 80. What was special in her life was family, church and her work. Floyd, of Maple Street, died Friday, January 18, 2013 at Conway Medical Center. Mrs. Floyd was a daughter of the late James P. and Rosa Lee Daniels Ray. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Aynor. Mrs. Floyd was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Conway Medical Center and Conway Manor until her retirement at age 80. What was special in her life was family, church and her work. She was predeceased by two brothers, J.D. and Hubert Ray and four sisters, Emma Vaught, Nealy Jordan, Flora Jean Smith and Faye Ray. Surviving are two sons, Ronny Floyd (Kathie) of Irmo and John W. "Bill" Floyd of Aynor, one daughter, Lynn F. Capps of Aynor, one sister, Carolyn R. Andrews of Aynor, nine grandchildren, Marie F. Holden (Aaron), David Floyd (Julie), Shannon Floyd, Jennifer Cline (Brad), Renee F. Wood (J.R.), Jonathan G. Floyd, John William Floyd (Sarah), Lisa F. Dent (Lance), and Coleman S. Capps, eleven great-grandchildren, Maria Lynn and Nathaniel C. Peeples, Joshua and Bertie Floyd, Cleo Floyd-Johnstone, Robert Wood, Jordan and Rachael Cline, John Lawrence and Aubrey Dent and Sophie Claire Floyd. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at First Baptist Church of Aynor with Rev. Gordon Taylor and Rev. Rich McLawhorn officiating. Burial will follow in Aynor Cemetery directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church of Aynor, P.O. Box 651, Aynor, SC 29511.
