Description	:	Salsibury - Kathryn A. Brittingham, 87, of Salisbury died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born in Reids Grove, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Ruth Shortt Dennis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orren J. "OJ" Brittingham, in 1988 and a great-granddaughter, Lauren Benton, in 1996. Mrs. Brittingham retired from the Holly Center after 10 years of service as a nursing assistant. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Salisbury Baptist Temple and a past member of the Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by two sons, Ron... Born in Reids Grove, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Ruth Shortt Dennis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orren J. "OJ" Brittingham, in 1988 and a great-granddaughter, Lauren Benton, in 1996. Mrs. Brittingham retired from the Holly Center after 10 years of service as a nursing assistant. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Salisbury Baptist Temple and a past member of the Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by two sons, Ron J. Brittingham and his wife, Mary Jane, of Snow Hill and Dennis O. Brittingham and his wife, Lourdes, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; three grandchildren, Susan J. Benton and her husband, Willie, of Salisbury, Jackie Le-Compte of Ocean City and Rodney Brittingham of Philadelphia; two great-grandchildren, Brittany Benton and Matthew LeCompte; a sister, Elizabeth Hurley of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Revs. Oren Perdue and Carlo Leto will officiate. Interment will follow in Pittsville Cemetery.
