Description	:	Kathryn A. (Dunn) Verschoor, 86, of Sioux City died Thursday, March 9, 2006, at her home following a lengthy illness. Services were held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Rev. Daniel Guenther officiating. Burial followed in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Neptune, Iowa, under direction of the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Kathryn was born January 20, 1920, in rural LeMars, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Alice (Keenan) Dunn. She was raised on the family farm near Neptune. She married Donald L. Kathryn was born January 20, 1920, in rural LeMars, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Alice (Keenan) Dunn. She was raised on the family farm near Neptune. She married Donald L. "Bob" Verschoor May 10, 1939, in LeMars. He died in 1999. The couple lived in LeMars, Auburn and Sheldon, Iowa, before moving to Sioux City. In 1969, they moved to Nevis, Minnesota, where they owned and operated ‘In We Go Resort' until 1974. They returned to Sioux City in 1978. She was a longtime active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Church of Nativity and Carmelite Guild. She volunteered at the Bargain Center and was active in the Democratic party. Kathryn enjoyed gardening, flowers and birds. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. All children were her special love. Her best friend was her dog, K.C. Survivors include five children, Patricia Besett of Sioux City, Barbara Verschoor of Sioux City, Gloria and her husband, Marvin Brincks of Alta Vista, Iowa, Donald Jr. and his wife, Susan Verschoor of Sioux City, and Debora and her husband, Roger Plumley of Nevis, Minn.; nine grandchildren, Rob Besett, Tricia Besett-Alesch, Russ Brincks, Derek Sullivan, Megan Sullivan, Ryne Verschoor, Aimee DeWitt, Melissa Lindow and Kathryn Carlson; and eight great-grandchildren with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Alvina Traufler; a brother, Sylvester Dunn; and a grandson, Thomas Michael Besett. Pallbearers will be Rob Besett, Russell Brincks, Derek Sullivan, Ryne Verschoor, Shane Alesch, Andy Lindow, Brian DeWitt, Jason Carlson and Zach Peterson.
