Moeller Maiden Name = Kathryn Amelia Dorfmeyer Parents = Mr. & Mrs. Henry Dorfmeyer Obituary The Hooper Sentinel July 4, 1929 Emil Moeller Home Cast into Darkness by Death The farm home of Emil Moeller, 7 miles northwest of Hooper, was cast into deep gloom early Tuesday morning, July 2, 1929, when the angel of death entered therein and took there from the wife and mother, Kathryn Amelia Moeller, at the age of 30 years and 10 months. Death was due to complications arising following the birth of a baby daughter the day before. Her death came as a great shock to the family and relatives as well as to the family's many friends. In their hour of darkness the family has the deepest sympathy of the community. Kathryn Amelia Dorfmeyer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dorfmeyer of our city, was a life long resident of the community in which she died, having been born on the Dorfmeyer farm, northwest of Hooper, on September 2, 1898. There she grew to womanhood and on December 14th, 1916, was united in marriage to Emil Moeller. This union was blessed with five children, Helen, Laverne, Eunice, Merlin, and the little daughter for whom she gave up her life, all of whom now will greatly miss the fond care of a devoted mother's administrations. In her life time Mrs. Moeller was a dutiful daughter, a loving and devoted wife and mother, and an esteemed friend, she holding her friendship by the gentleness of her character. Besides her immediate family she is survived by her parents, two sisters, Mrs. Anna Cutman of Scribner and Mrs. Meta Lucas of Omaha, and five brothers, Herman, Henry, John, Fred and Merlin of this community. Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home and at 2:30 from St. Johns Lutheran church, these being conducted by Rev. J. H. Gerdes of Winslow in the absence of her regular pastor, Rev. Theo. Norden. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
