Description	:	Kathryn C. Ferguson, 85, died of natural causes Thursday, March 22, at the Central Montana Skilled Nursing Center. A vigil service is 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Leo's Catholic Church. Funeral Liturgy is 10 a.m. Mon-day at the church, with burial in Central Montana Memorial Gar-dens. Creel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Kathryn was born Aug. 29, 1926, in Chinook, to Arthur and Mabel (Halverson) Sullivan. Kay moved to St. Thomas Orphanage in Great Falls at the age of 9, after her mother died during child-birth. Her sisters, Helen and Mary, also moved to St. Thomas Orphanage. Kay was a nanny for the Davis family while attending the College of Great Falls. She graduated in 1948 with a bachelor's degree in education in English and history. She taught at the Winkler School, Cut Bank, Great Falls and St. Leo's School in Lewistown. On June 5, 1948 in Great Falls, Kay was united in marriage to Monte W. Ferguson. They both retired from teaching in 1986. He preceded her in death in June 2003. Kay was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, St. Rita's Guild and the Sons of Norway. She enjoyed camping, counted cross-stitch, crossword puzzles and baking. Survivors include three children, Cherelee (Wayne) Martin of Moore, Craig (Debbie) Ferguson of White Salmon, Wash., and Susan (Dave) Woods of Lewistown; seven grandchildren, Toby Ferguson, Jeff (Andrea) Martin, Matt (Judi) Martin, Nick (Dorothy) Woods, Casey Ferguson, Krista (Nick Nowak) Woods and Patrick Woods; seven great-grandchildren, Jordan Ferguson, Trace, Jaden and Brady Martin, and Cole, Kate and Quin Martin. In addition, she is survived by two brothers, Alan (Marge) Sullivan, Paul (Joan) Sullivan; a sister-in-law, Hazel Sullivan; and nu-merous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Monte Ferguson; a son, Daniel Ferguson; five broth-ers, Neil, Eugene, Arthur "Pat," Edward, and Francis Sullivan; and three sisters, Theresa and Mary Sullivan, and Helen Venetz Hoyt; and her parents. Memorials are suggested to the St. Leo's Church Elevator Fund, 124 W. Broadway, Lewistown, MT 59457; or to Hospice of Central Montana, 408 Wendell Ave., Lewistown, MT 59457.
