Description	:	Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 10 at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Elmer K. Young, 76 at Grand Junction, Iowa. Mrs. Young, a native Lake View resident, died September 8th at Jefferson following a lengthy illness. The Rev. W.F. Shneck of the Presbyterian church, conducted the services. Mrs. John Young sang "In the Garden" and "No Night There" and Mrs. Roger Fisher was accompanist for the final rites held at Slininger Funeral Home. Casket attendants were C.S. Burchfield, O.G. Carmel, Iowa Nov. 25, 1883 and died at Jefferson, Iowa Sept. 8, 1960 at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 13 days. She was the oldest of a family of nine children. Mrs. Young was raised and attended schools in the Lake View community. She graduated from high school at Lake View and was a charter member of the Legion Auxiliary there. In 1923 she moved to Grand Junction, Iowa where she purchased and operated the movie house until 1927. May 15, 1930 she was united in marriage to Elmer K. Young in the Little Brown Church at Nashua. The couple made their home in Grand Junction for the remainder of her years. While her health allowed, Mrs. Young was an active civic worker and well known for her interest in flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers and two sisters. Surviving are her husband, Elmer, four brothers: John A. and Leonard A. Drilling, both of Lake View; Joe M. Drilling of Santa Cruz, Calif. and Louis Drilling of Burlington, Wis., two nieces and one nephew, other relatives and friends. The Lake View Resort - 9/15/1960
