She died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at Park View Haven Nursing Home in Coleridge. ——— Kathryn Jeanette Hansen was born on July 17, 1915, at Coleridge to John William and Mary Mabel (Walters) Feese. She grew up in Coleridge and graduated from Coleridge Public High School in 1933 and attended Wayne State College for one year. She married Arnold Hansen on Jan. 15, 1936, at Coleridge, and they made their home on a farm east of Coleridge until moving into town in 1959. Kathryn was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and held various offices in the ELCW. She was a former president and vice president of the Lutheran Ladies Aid. She was a former member of the Norris Homemakers Club and was a Cub Scout leader for four years and a Girl Scout leader for 11 years. She and Arnold were gatekeepers of the Tail Waters campground at Gavins Point Dam for four years. They loved to travel and visited all of the states. She enjoyed playing cards. Kathryn is survived by two children, Shirley Flynn of Cudahy, Wis., Mike and Donna Hansen of Coleridge; a son-in-law, John Mitchell of Chicago, Ill.; 11 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Huss of Yakima, Wash. She was a preceded in death by her parents; husband Arnold, who died on Nov. 11, 1991, at the age of 82; two daughters, Sally Johnson and Sue Mitchell; a son, Roger Hansen; a son-in-law, Joe Flynn; three brothers, Herbert, Claire and Ralph Feese; a sister, Carole Bernin; a brother-in-law, Robert Huss; and a niece, Sherrill Feese. Pallbearers will be Claude Hofeldt, Randy Hansen, Dave Frerichs, Jerry Hoffart, Larry Paulsen and George R. Hefner. (norfolkdailynews.com/obituaries)
