Read More	* IN LOVING MEMORY OF * Kathryn (Van Dyke) Cox was born on Thursday; February 7, 1935, at home at Kellogg; Jasper County, Iowa. She was the only daughter born to Jacob C. and Sarah Marie (Van Rees) Van Dyke. She graduated from the Sully High School. On Friday; July 2, 1954, she was united in marriage to Noland Cox at the Baptist Temple in Marshalltown; Marshall County, Iowa. They made their home in Marshalltown, Iowa and moved to their acreage where they built their home northeast of Marshalltown, Iowa about 46 years ago. Kathryn was a woman of faith and was a member of the First Baptist Church family, helped with ministries of hospitality and help, taught 2 and 3 year olds, was a Sunday School teacher, an AWANA instructor, babysat and was a camp cook, Sonshine Preschool helper and cook, chairman of the ladies circle, white cross chairman, hospitality and devotional chairman, Gamos member, VBS teacher and director, assisted Noland's ministry at the Teamster's Union and AMF (American Missionary Fellowship) and helped in the ministry at the Meskwaki Friends Church. She loved children, cross-stitching, tatting, crocheting, playing the piano, loved ice cream and chocolate. She also enjoyed animals, just not really cats. Kathryn (Van Dyke) Cox, age 72, of rural Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Friday; August 24, 2007 at the Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center in Marshalltown, Iowa. Those left to mourn her passing are: Her five children: Denise Ann Cox, Phil Cox, both of Marshalltown, Iowa. David & his wife: Becky Cox of Madeira, California. Tim Cox of Johnston; Polk County, Iowa and Mary Ellen Cox of Marshalltown, Iowa. Three grandchildren: Daniel Noland Cox, Abigail Jean Cox and Jacob Landry Cox. A half-brother: Donald Van Dyke. A half-sister: Sharon Van Dyke. Her step-mother: Lucille Van Dyke and a niece: Jessica Van Dyke, all of Grinnell; Poweshiek County, Iowa. A nephew: Bradley Doud of Las Vegas; Las Vegas County, Navada as well as her church family and a host of friends. In heaven she has rejoined her parents, her beloved husband: Noland, her in-laws: Harold & his wife: Mabel Cox, her sister-in-law: Patricia Doud and nephew: Mark Doud. May they rest in peace. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday; August 31, 2007. Funeral services celebrating her life will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday; September 1, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Marshalltown, Iowa with Pastors Dick Sipe and Conrad Lundberg officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown, Iowa with a time of fellowship and refreshments by the ladies of the First Baptist Church at the Mitchell Funeral Home Hospitality Room.
